My Projects!
Take Me Out With the Crowd
I am proud to be the co-founder for an amazing and inspiring nonprofit organization. My brother and I channeled our love for sports and professional games, and created something to help underprivileged kids attend live sporting events who wouldn’t normally have the chance. We conducted a charity event in order to raise money to purchase tickets, and send families to games for a life changing experience. The best part of all was talking to the families after they attended the event, hearing all about their experience. It is very rewarding knowing my charity that we built from the ground up, changed the lives of many, giving them a core memory. I am most excited to continue fundraising and sending more and more families to live sporting events, giving them the experience they deserve.
From Fur to Feathers
“From Fur to Feathers” is a heartfelt story about Benny the bear being raised and adopted by a family of birds. When the birds have to migrate south due to the winter season, Benny faces the hardship of trying to fly, despite having paws, not wings. Through determination and guidance from Oswald the Owl, Benny finally reunites with his parents once again. Benny the bear then realizes it was the power of hope that allowed him to fly because he never gave up.
This story was inspired by the passing of my co-author, and friends, father, who lost his battle to cancer. He was a well-known intelligent doctor who brought children into our world. This children’s story honors his legacy by giving hope to pediatric cancer patients. Our story is going to be donated to children’s hospitals all over, providing a sense of hope and shine in their lives.
Cycle For Survival
Cycle For Survival is the official rare cancer fundraising program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I am proud to be a part of one of their fundraising teams “The Golden Ribbon Riders.” We participate in super bowl boxes, charity events at local clothing stores, color war, and most importantly cycling at Equinox. At the rides, brave cancer survivors share their story to the entire foundation. It is very touching and emotional watching them fight a battle they never asked for.
My favorite Cycle For Survival event was “Color War against Cancer.” We got decked out in our colors, mine was red. I was a “color war captain”, and my role was to lead the dance competition for my team. Throughout the day, we did a number of fun activities. Seeing joy on people’s faces who were experiencing the battle for their life, made it all worth it.
